WGS Local Groups - Barcelona

Barcelona Gourmet Group presents mouthwatering excursions that teach us about the local gastronomy and how is affected by history, traditions and seasons.

This is not only a dining group, but also a chance to discover more about the local region from a delicious gastronomic point of view. We will visit places that are known for their specific foodstuffs, meet with locals who transmit an infectious passion for their produce, and of course, taste sumptuous fruit, vegetables, fish, meat, cheeses, wines, desserts - all of which have a special link to their surrounding area.

Not only will our meetings be interesting from a foodie perspective, but they will also provide the opportunity for interaction via the most social medium in existence - food and wine!

Visit and Tasting at Mercado de Santa Caterina, Barcelona 25/10/2014 12:00 PM
Come and join us for an authentic and tasty visit to Santa Caterina Market, Barcelona.

Our knowledgeable guides will introduce us to this market - which is these days practically as well known as the city's other market : Mercado de la Boquería.

Our guides will meet us at the entrance to the market and tell us about its history and way of life, commenting various anecdotes, such as the infamous multi-coloured roof, and the lesser known archaelogical dig... Dont forget to get your market shopping tips as we make our way around the stalls.

We'll be hungry after digesting all of this new knowledge so its off to our own private room within the market for a brunch of fresh Mediterranean products straight from the market stalls, all washed down with some local wine/cava.
